TWU’s SHTEAM Punks to host holiday event
Dec. 8, 2025 — DENTON — SHTEAM Punks, TWU’s cross-disciplinary faculty collaborative dedicated to breaking barriers between science, humanities, technology, engineering, arts and math (SHTEAM), will hold a free holiday event for pre-K through elementary children.
“Shtink! Shtank! Punk! A Winter Wonders Adventure” will take place Dec. 18 at 2-4 p.m. in the second-floor lobby of the Administration Conference Tower on .
All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their visit.
Activities will include:
- Science experiments: get hands-on with festive, fun science
- Sensory experiments: explore the sights, sounds and smells of the holidays.
- Art & crafts: make your own unique, holiday-themed creations.
- Storytelling: listen to tales and use your imagination in our story corner.
- Ecology exhibit: discover the Winter Wonders of the North Texas animal and plant kingdoms
- Holiday-themed coloring and card-making stations
Parking is available at:
- The visitor parking garage on Oakland Street.
- Visitor metered parking lot on Administration Drive.
- Free street parking may be available on Oakland Street and surrounding streets.

The goal of SHTEAM Punks is to create innovative projects that connect the university with the broader community. These initiatives range from developing hands-on K-12 outreach programs to designing forward-thinking academic minors and certificates.
